ענת תמיד אומרת שאנשים הם מצחיקים, לא בכוונה, פשוט כי הם חושבים שהם מצליחים להסתיר. אולי בגלל זה המשחק מעולם לא היה עבורה רק מקצוע. הוא היה דרך להסתכל קצת יותר מקרוב על האנשים, על הרגעים הקטנים ועל כל מה שקורה בין מה שאנחנו אומרים לבין מה שאנחנו באמת מרגישים. עם השנים הצטרפו גם הכתיבה וההוראה, אבל הסקרנות נשארה בדיוק אותה סקרנות.
הכול התחיל על הבמה. במשך השנים ענת שיחקה בתיאטרון, בטלוויזיה, במופעי יחיד ובסטנד־אפ, עם זאת תמיד נמשכה לאותן דמויות שקשה להכניס למשבצת אחת.
משחק וכתיבה תמיד הולכים יחד. הרבה מהיצירות מתחילות משאלה שלא מרפה, משפט שנשמע במקרה או דמות שפשוט מסרבת לעזוב. עם השנים, הרעיונות האלה הפכו ליצירות שזכו להכרה בארץ ובעולם.
